Caernarfon is a coastal castle north of where Caer Dathyl might have been. This castle was first constructed between 1238 and 1330 by Edward I of England. Because of Caernarfon Castle, Arfon remains an important political location. It is where Prince Charles is invested as the "Prince of Wales".
