I attended Kennesaw State University from January 2015 through April 2016, where I pursued the GIS Certificate.
I previously graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 with a B.S in Geography and Atmospheric Sciences.
After KSU, I've spent a year working as a federal contractor for NOAA's National Ocean Service in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was a Coastal Hazards and Resilience GIS Specialist for the Center of Operational Oceanographic Products and Services from April 2016 until May 2017.
Following that job, I was a GIS Analysist for the Middle Georgia Regional Commission in Macon, Georgia, from November 2017 until December 2019.
Currently, I am a GIS Analyst in the Center for Geospatial Science Education and Analytics (GeoSEA) at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Absolutely! I took Introduction to Cartography, Intro to GIS, Advanced GIS, and Introduction to Remote Sensing for my GIS Certificate. To finish my GIS Certificate, I interned with Jennifer Lana at Cobb County GIS. The GIS education that Kennesaw State gave me plus the practical GIS experience I gained through my internship at Cobb County GIS helped me hit the ground running in my career. I believe the program made me a desired candidate during my job search.
