Stop 4 Barkerville Locations

In Stop 4 Wells & Barkerville, you will be exploring two locations:

  1. Barkerville Historic Town & Park
  2. Osisko Development Corporation's (ODV) Cariboo Gold Project

Barkerville Historic Town & Park

In the mid-1800s, people from all over the world traveled to B.C. in search of gold during the Cariboo Gold Rush of 1861-67. During this time Barkerville became a hub for the gold rush.

Today, the town of Barkerville is a Historical Town & Park and serves as a testament to the Indigenous Nations, Chinese immigrants, William 'Billy' Barker, and other gold prospectors of the Cariboo Gold Rush.

Osisko Development Corporation (ODV) Cariboo Gold Project

The Cariboo Gold Rush may have ended in 1867, but mining activities continue in the area!

Today, Barkerville Gold Mines (BGM), under Osisko Development Corporation (ODV), is developing an underground gold mine in the historic Cariboo Mining District.
