Lincoln National Park
The name of the national park I have chosen to research is Lincoln National Park.

Size and Location
Lincoln National Park has a size of 216.4km and is located on the tip of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It is located near the town of Port Lincoln.

Habitat Type
There are many habitat types in Lincoln National Park. These include to a forest, which take up most of the island, a beach

Values of the Park
The value that Lincoln National Park has is that it preserves the wildlife and plants that are located there. It also preserves the Aboriginal artefacts and sites.

Active Parabolic Dune
There is also an active parabolic dune located in the park. An active parabolic dune is a U-Shaped mound of sand, which are characterised by a crest pointing upwards.

Aboriginal Significance
The tribes of Barngarla and Nauo were the first people to have lived in the region. Several Archaeological digs have found sites of stone working, middens and fish traps.

Threats
There is a threat to tourists and other animals with the European honeybee swarms that occur during the warmer months. There are also threats to the park with tourists, who litter, and fires, especially during the hotter months, which burn trees and can kill wildlife.

Fire bans
The government has put fire bans in place from November to April to prevent wild fires starting from barbecues.
1899
Donington Cottage, a holiday home in the Park, was built.
1941
Lincoln National Park was first declared a flora and fauna reserve in 1942.
1972
31 years later, it was rebranded as a National Park.
The reason I chose to do Lincoln National Park for this assignment was that I have been here, a few years ago. It also has good things to do, which include good beaches, bush-walks, and wildlife to see.
