WWI Billings, Montana
Mothers during the war
During WWI, stay at home moms had to keep the household up and running, while filling in for the soldiers in the workplace, and helped raise funds for the war effort while their children were off serving in the war. Some other moms would serve as nurses, helping the soldiers heal during the war, and helping the soldiers stay healthy. There was also a canning demonstration held at Garfield school in Billings. This demonstration was led by a woman who was known as Mrs. J Jacobs. Many women and some men showed up and they learned many useful things for gardening.
