The money flowing back to municipal governments and other entities help those communities protect the environment and public health through projects as diverse as water treatment equipment upgrades to flood control infrastructure. In Fiscal Year 2021 alone, a total of over $439 million was disbursed to local municipalities and other entities; EGLE administered 674 grants through 48 grant programs and 32 loans.
