The Minnesota Department of Transportation, in collaboration with Anoka County and the City of Coon Rapids, is adding an eastbound and westbound lane to U.S. Highway 10 in Coon Rapids from Round Lake Blvd. to Hanson Blvd. The addition of these lanes will increase the traffic capacity in the area. The project goals include improving traffic flow, reducing traffic congestion, and decreasing the number and severity of backup related crashes. This will be achieved with a design that minimizes impacts to the surrounding floodplains and wetlands within the Coon Creek drainage network.
