Uncovering the Mystery of The Nazca Lines
The Nazca Civilization was known for leaving a curious mark on the world due to their Geoglyphs that can only be seen from the sky. Though a curious mark, there are subjects that are known in a modern-day culture that you wouldn't think an ancient civilization could possibly do. Carefully integrating pictures on the ground in perfect scale, you would wonder how and why they would do it in the first place. The "Nazca Astronaut" Geoglyph had modern-day archaeologists curious as to why they drew something from out of this world.

Dr. Anthony Aveni is a leading professor on uncovering the truth of the Nazca Lines. Dr. Aveni has noted that the lines were in peak condition considering how old the lines were. Using oxidized surface rocks on a light coarse desert, the images of the geoglyphs were able to be pronounced from the ground up. Though the lines were considered art for modern-day individuals, to the ancient civilization it was considered a place for religious rites. Ancient pottery shards that have been smashed and ritual items such as Crab Carcasses, bones, and fabric were found surrounding the area.
The ocean is 30 miles away, which is 10 hours walking distance. Gathering materials for the rituals would take almost a day trip.

The Geoglyphs come in all shapes and sizes, some over the length of a football field. Some have been noted to be 25 km long. The Nazca Lines have covered a sparse desert of 30 miles between the two cities of Rio Grande and Nazca. The purpose of the Nazca Line has left Dr. Anthony Aveni's crew to question themselves by asking "Could these geoglyphs be effigies of ancient animal gods or patterns of constellations? Are they roads, star pointers, maybe even a gigantic map?" What's the purpose besides ritual gathering?
