AND I WRITE PLAYS!

Follow this map of some of my projects produced across the continent and Hawai'i!

1

The Statue

2014 - My first play was a three-hour slog that my high school endured.

Log Line - His girlfriend tragically died... He made a statue of her... The statue came to life... Now what!?

Producer - Me as a 16-year-old.

2

Flat Fish

2016 - My first play produced in college! Flat Fish launched my drive to write stories about belonging.

Log Line - When Willy goes missing, his older sister Jill goes on a quest to bring him home. By reading the journal he left behind, Jill comes to understand her brother's misguided search for love--and, ultimately, uncovers not only the answers that Willy has been looking for, but makes discoveries about herself.

Producer - University of Redlands Artists' Collective

3

House Plays: A Night of Forgetting

2018 - My first immersive play(s)! House Plays consists of three short plays that all occur in one house. Some scenes even took place in my very own bedroom!

Log Line - Three families, the different timelines, one house.

Producer - The Worms

4

Small Minds

2019 - My second immersive play. Located in UoR's Victorian Mansion, Small Minds allowed patients (audience) to weave through rooms, choosing which characters' stories they'd like to follow and from where.

Log Line - The US government created a new agency to institute happiness. In this trial, participants are stripped of their language and then regifted one word at a time so they can only speak happy thoughts.

Producer - The Worms

5

Zap!

2017 - My Los Angeles debut! This queer coming of age drama was part of a "national festival dedicated to the next generation of groundbreaking playwrights."

Log Line - A young woman comes to terms with her sexuality, or at least the words to match her feelings. She finds her family will do anything to change her, whether that be through electro-therapy or simply telling her to make a new choice. This is the story of how she learns to survive in a world designed against her.

Producer - Los Angeles Collegiate Playwrights Festival (Lounge Theatre)

6

Flat Fish (Again!)

2017 - My New York City debut. My first chance to work in NYC excited me so much that I had to continue playwriting.

Producer - Black Coffee Productions (Fresh Grind Festival)

7

Bonkers for Bonkers

2018 - My first queer space! This play about a possessed gay sock monkey haunting a mother on her birthday took place in NYC's LGBTQ Center.

Log Line - Mom wants to celebrate her 60th birthday, but an old sock monkey possessed by her dead gay son has other plans in store.

Producer - Village Playwrights (Gay Pride Plays)

8

The Children's Farm

2020 - My first equity play! This play balanced my pressing questions about queerness, family, and home. Children's Farm received 4 Bay Area productions between 2020-2021

Log Line - Sam runs away to California to live with her cousins Joey and Lauren (and their sock puppets) after being outed and exiled. Traversing a decade and a half of role-playing and therapy, this drama weighs forced family, roots, and finding freedom on the farm.

Producers - Magic Theatre; Custom Made Theatre; Town Hall Theatre

9

Hawaiian Shake

2018 - Back where it all began! My high school mentor commissioned me to write a play for my alma mater about my relationship with home (Hawaiʻi Island).

Log Line - A surreal extrospection of cultural belonging and conflict on Hawai'i Island. Stories of a Haole family trying to belong to the land and a Kānaka Maoli family trying to preserve it are stitched together by nuclear bombings, contrasting hulas, and unhinged spirits. This play unearths the truth until it fucking explodes with it.

Producer - New Voice Play Festival (Aka: My Old High School)

10

Fourth Wall

2021 - My first intentional virtual play, which was a part of the first-ever original play festival that's been across ka pae ‘āina o Hawai‘i!

Log Line - Two teenage boys feel trapped in their Zoom box during the pandemic, so Zoom decides to send them to space and free them!

Producers: Creative Labs Hawai'i, and ME! I proposed this festival to CLH, so I was responsible for producing it as well. We ended up featuring 6 local playwrights, 6 local directors, and over 30 local actors.

11

The Turning Point

2022 - My first short film!

Log Line - A hybrid dance/play journey through the seven stages of grief and the gifts it provides.

Producers: Prince Dance Company

12

My Partner

Log Line - Cultures collide in rural Maui when two teenage boys are forced to partner on a school project.

Producers: Keli'i Grace Films

Fun Fact: My Partner has received premiers at sixteen international film festivals thus far!

13

Here Lies Truth

2022 - My first playcast! HLT is

Log Line - A hybrid play/podcast about truth, lies, and whatever’s in between. Each episode intermixes authentic stories from Hawai'i's community with micro-radio-plays written by me. Listeners don't know which stories are truths or lies and must decide what truthful storytelling means to them.

Producers: East-West Center

Fun Fact: Here Lies Truth landed me a summer arts residency with the Orchard Project's Audio Lab in 2023!

14

espresso martini

2022 - This short play was written for actors in the Tisch Grad Acting program and performed at the annual BeSpoke Plays Festival.

Producers: NYU Tisch

15

Corporate Jedis

2023 - This short play was selected for an equity production in the inaugural Festival of Short Works.

Log Line - Stacey wishes for a promotion, and maybe today, God's Business Partner (an IBM Infoprint 2085) will finally grant it. The only thing in Stacey's way is her work bestie, Gregg, and his vision for a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force.

Producers: NYU Tisch

16

Mr. Theseus

2023 - This one-man show was performed live as a part of the class, Writing and Performing in the Face of the Blank Page and the Empty Space, with Anna Deavere Smith.
