Economic insecurity is too often the gateway to homelessness. Approximately 9,000 people age 24 and under experience homelessness in Los Angeles on any given night. Up to 40 percent of homeless youth identify as LGBTQ+, according to the Los Angeles LGBT Center — many are LGBTQ+ youth of color. Controller Galperin's LGBTQ+ Resource Map below highlights 100+ area organizations that provide housing, health resources, education programs, scholarships, legal services, nutrition assistance and more to homeless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth.
