Igo Ono Community Services District (IOCSD)
Zogg Fire Impacts - Post Fire
Fire Severity Discussion
Each section of ditch has a discussion about the fire severity for that section based upon observations and visual analysis.
The Igo Ono Community Services District (IOCSD) system is approximately 20 miles long spanning from Rainbow Lake Road to the community of Igo.
While the ditch runs approximately 17 miles, the entire system is comprised of Rainbow Lake, Cottonwood Creek, the Rock Ridge Tunnel, Ducket Creek and the entire ditch system, as seen in the overview map below.
Of the 17 miles of ditch only 1.21 miles of the ditch were unburned in the Zogg Fire. Almost 75% of the ditch saw High to Moderate Fire Severity.

IOCSD Overview Map
Rainbow Lake to Ducket Creek
Rainbow Lake
The IOCSD begins at Rainbow Lake. From here water travels through the outfall and into Cottonwood Creek.
Rainbow Lake Outlet Pipes
30-inch outlet pipes.
Cottonwood Creek Diversion Dam
From the Rainbow Lake outtake the water flows down Cottonwood Creek to the Diversion Dam.
Beginning of Rocky Ridge Tunnel
The Rocky Ridge Tunnel begins at the Cottonwood Creek Diversion Dam.
End of Rocky Ridge Tunnel
The Rocky Ridge Tunnel then emerges just over a mile later near Rainbow Lake Road and Ducket Creek where water flows into Ducket Creek before entering the ditch system just over a half mile to the south.
Fire Impacts: Rainbow Lake to Ducket Creek
The Zogg Fire did not reach the shores of Rainbow Lake. However, the fire did impact the Cottonwood Creek Drainage both above and below the lake. Low Severity Fire is present below the Rainbow Lake Dam and near the Diversion Dam. High Severity Fire is present along Rainbow Lake Road where the Rocky Ridge Tunnel ends.
Cottonwood Creek Diversion Dam - November 9, 2020
Tunnel End at Rainbow Lake Road - November 9, 2020
Ducket Creek
The IOCSD ditch enters Ducket Creek just below the Rainbow Lake Road bridge. The water then travels down Ducket Creek to just south of the Sunny Hill Road bridge where a diversion dam diverts the water into the main IOCSD ditch.
Comparison Map: Current Conditions versus Previous Conditions.
Fire Impacts
The Zogg Fire impacted the entire area from Ducket Creek drainage with fire severity ranging from Moderate to High.

Ducket Creek to Rainbow Lake Road
The main IOCSD begins at Ducket Creek. The ditch spans just under three miles between Ducket Creek and Rainbow Lake Road meandering between houses.
Comparison Map: Current Conditions versus Previous Conditions.
Fire Impacts: Ducket Creek to Rainbow Lake Road
While the Ducket Creek drainage was heavily impacted by the fire, the areas directly adjacent to the ditch only saw low to moderate fire severity. Within this 2.86 mile section, 1.35 miles of ditch were unimpacted by the Zogg Fire while the remining 1.51 miles saw Low to Moderate Impacts.
