Who We Are
The Redding Cultural District is a group of Arts and Culture organizations, led by the Shasta County Arts Council and recognized by the California Arts Council , as one of 14 state-designated cultural districts. The group operates in a designated District at the center of Redding. The District features a high concentration of cultural resources and activities. We share our assets and talents to provide the best experience to our community and its visitors.

Where We Are
Redding Cultural District’s is located 160 miles north of Sacramento and includes three majestic mountain ranges as a backdrop. Surrounded by the Trinity Alps, Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen mountains and residing next to the Sacramento River, the Redding Cultural District’s most alluring draw is mother nature. World-class attractions located along the Sacramento River connect to its historic downtown via the Sundial and Diestelhorst bridges.
Located in the heart of Redding, the Redding Cultural District encompasses Downtown Redding, Turtle Bay, and the parks directly across the Sacramento River.
Within our thriving cultural hub, a wide array of artistic and cultural amenities and events are shared. We have good food, music, microbrewing and wine tasting, theater, dance, cycling, scholarship and education, art, and nature exploration. There is something for everyone.
What We Do
Through the Shasta County Arts Council, the Redding Cultural District provides assistive and developmental resources. The Redding Cultural District supports non-profit arts and culture organizations; calls attention to local artists and businesses.

Art and Culture
You will find nearly 70 public art installations and over 50 dining establishments, bars, and coffee shops in the Redding Cultural District. The historic Cascade Theatre and Redding Civic Auditorium host a range of regional, national, and international performing artists. Additionally, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, The Art Hunger, Old City Hall, and Carter House Art Gallery offer captivating art and cultural displays. Our Nationally recognized trail system connects visitors to the The McConnell Arboretum and the Sundial Bridge, a remarkable glass art walkway across the river and one of the world's largest working sundials.
The goal is to use murals and community engagement to showcase Redding's culture, drive economic growth and enhance quality of life.
