2021 Art Contest Recap

Competition Overview

UTA is proud to announce the first My BeUTAHful Community Student Art Competition. Through this competition we want to give young people in Utah the opportunity to self-express through public art, be a visible part of the public transportation system, bring art to riders and the communities that we serve, and to celebrate and represent Utah communities in our service.

The 2021 theme was “Meet Your Neighbor".

Entries are encouraged to highlight the beauty and diversity of Utah’s communities and people.

Pieces were judged in four age categories:

1) Kindergarten – Second grade

2) Third grade – Sixth grade

3) Seventh grade – Ninth grade

4) Tenth grade – Twelfth grade

The winning artwork will be displayed on UTA buses and trains for one year, beginning in April 2021.

Winning artists will receive prizes, and will be able to see their artwork displayed prominently in the community. This project aims to empower youth expression and make art a more accessible feature of our communities. Youth can contribute greatly to community liveability and positive placemaking by participating in this program!
