We welcome you to experience the natural beauty, wildlife and scenic vistas that our Chadds Ford, PA campus has to offer. This permanently conserved land is home to the Brandywine Museum of Art and Brandywine Conservancy offices.
As you explore the Brandywine's campus trails, you will be greeted by sprawling native plant gardens, meadows, woodlands and wetlands. Be sure to keep an eye out for interpretive signage along the way to learn more about our blended mission of art and environment. We hope you enjoy your visit!

Explore the Trails
There are five different trails to choose from on the Brandywine's campus grounds in Chadds Ford, PA. These trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset. Free parking is available at the Brandywine Museum of Art and at the Chadds Ford Township municipal building—both conveniently located off Route 1. Overnight parking is not permitted.
Know Before You Go
The Brandywine's trails are open daily, sunrise to sunset. Visitors use the trails at their own risk. Closed-toe shoes are recommended. Consider bringing binoculars for wildlife viewing and/or a camera for nature photography.
Help protect the beauty of our natural and cultural resources by minding the below trail rules and guidelines:

- Stay on existing trails, roads and paths.
- Leave no trace; please take all trash and recycling with you!
- Leash dogs and clean up and take all pet waste with you.
- Refrain from smoking or building camp fires.
- Alcoholic beverages, illicit drugs and firearms are prohibited.
- Keep motorized vehicles, bicycles and/or horses off the trails.
- Refrain from cutting, removing or disturbing vegetation.
- Be courteous to others and don’t disturb wildlife.
- Take only photos and memories; vandalizers will be prosecuted.
Participate in Citizen Science! While exploring our campus grounds, consider using the iNaturalist app to track, record and share your nature observations online. iNaturalist is a leading nature app designed to help with species identification and connect users with a community of naturalists. To begin, search for “Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art” in the “Projects” tab of iNaturalist, where you can add and view all observations that have been taken on campus. The Brandywine Conservancy also leads the Brandywine Creek Greenway regional planning initiative, a 40-mile-long conservation and recreation corridor along both branches of the Brandywine that originates in the Pennsylvania Highlands in Honey Brook Township and stretches to the Christina River in the City of Wilmington. The Brandywine Creek Greenway app connects users to over 200 publicly accessible parks and preserves, river access points and area attractions throughout the Greenway. About the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art

Based in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art preserves and promotes the natural and cultural connections between the area’s beautiful landscape, historic sites and important artists. The Conservancy protects the lands and waters throughout the Brandywine Valley and other priority conservation areas, developing sustainable approaches to emerging needs and assuring preservation of majestic open spaces and protection of natural resources for generations to come. The Museum of Art features an outstanding collection of American art housed in a 19th-century Mill building with a dramatic steel and glass addition overlooking the banks of the Brandywine River. A robust program of temporary art exhibitions—ranging from mid-nineteenth century to contemporary art—are presented throughout the year, as well as engaging programs and events for all ages. The Brandywine unites the inspiring experiences of art and nature, enhancing the quality of life in its community and among its diverse audiences.
