SonRise Property

SonRise Church Campus is on a large 13.9 acre lot. This space has four buildings and a large outdoor space. The Campus houses Worship space, offices, as well as all of SonRise ministries. The ministries include Open Hands Thrift Shop, Youth Group, Backpack ministry. A lot of progress and renovations have been complete on the property since it was first purchased in 2017, but there is even more to come!

History of SonRise Church

SonRise Church Plant

In January 2001 fifteen adults from the congregation of First Baptist Church formed the SonRise Church Plant

Ocean Downs Horse Track

In October 2002 the first independent SonRise Church service was held at Ocean Downs Horse Track. 96 people attended.

First Office and Meeting Spaces

From November 2002 to June 2007 SonRise rented a space at Union Station. The space served the purpose of having staff offices and meeting space.

SonRise Services move to Stephen Decatur High School

From September 2003 to July 2018 SonRise Church met in the cafeteria of Stephen Decatur High School. The space was setup every Sunday, and then broken down for 15 years.

SonRise Purchases Staff Offices and Meeting Space in Berlin

In June 2007 SonRise purchased its first property. The 3500 sqft building provided the staff with office space, metting spaces for ministries. The 9 acre property also provided outdoor events space.

SonRise Church Campus - Permanent Home

In 2016 SonRise Church found its permanent home in a 13 acre lot in Berlin, right off of Route 50. In January 2017 the staff moved into the Office Building. In April 2017 Open Hands Thrift Store opened its doors. And finally in July 2018 worship services started in the Worship Warehouse.

Mission Over Sea

SonRise aims to serve the unprivileged in Guatemala.

 SonRise Church  has an on-going partnership with the village in San Felipe, Guatemala. We have already provided a well and clean water, and provided shoes for the entire village. At this time the church is working on construction a Church Building so they have a place to worship out of the elements.
