It is finally Spring! As bike month is coming up in May - we can use this time time to celebrate biking as transportation, recreation, and an essential tool for everyday use. This year I Bike Knox wants to use this guide to celebrate biking all spring and summer long!
In this guide, you'll find a list of events, resources, and other items celebrating bike month. It's intended to be a living resource, so you can expect updates from now until the end of Bike Month. Did we forget something? Email Kate Jones at americorps@knoxplanning.org.
We also want to thank Savannah Robertson and Jace Swain-Crowley for their work in putting together Bike Month Knox Guide 2021 and 2022 Edition. Some of their work has been updated and included in this year's guide.

Walk with Elected Officials
When: June 6, 6:00 pm
Where: Everly Brothers Park
Bike Walk Knoxville’s tours with elected officials are a great opportunity to learn about how funding and policy impact infrastructure for biking and walking in our community as well as to engage with local elected officials, advocates, and community members on the important issue of making our streets safe for all people. The tour will highlight an ongoing Tennessee Department of Transportation Pedestrian Roadway Safety Initiative project on Sutherland Avenue, pedestrian visibility and crossing challenges along Sutherland Avenue and Kingston Pike, and the needs of specific populations getting around this area outside of a car, such as students, the elderly, and disabled individuals. The walk will be about a mile, so we encourage participants to wear proper shoes and bring a water bottle! Following the event will be a pint night fundraiser to benefit Bike Walk Knoxville at Albright Grove Brewing Co. This provides an opportunity to have casual conversations with local elected officials, advocates, and community members. Individuals who are unable to attend the walk are welcome to join us at the brewery afterwards."
