The City of Manhattan Beach Public Works Department is busy with many improvements around town. Check out some of our current Hot Projects!
Sepulveda Bridge Widening
Located on Sepulveda Blvd between Rosecrans Ave and 33rd St, the project includes widening the east side of the bridge to add one northbound lane on Sepulveda Blvd, a shoulder on the east side, and six foot wide sidewalks. Seismic retrofits and upgrades to the bridge railings will also be completed.
Pier Railing Replacement
The Manhattan Beach Pier was built in 1920. In 1995, it was listed as a State Historical Landmark as the oldest concrete Pier on the West Coast. This project will repair damaged and corroded portions of the railings on Manhattan Beach's iconic pier.
Utility Undergrounding
Construction for Underground Utility Assessment Districts 19-12 and 19-14 began on October 5th, 2020. The districts will be completed in approximately 24 – 33 months.

Peck Reservoir Replacement
Peck Reservoir was originally built in 19xx. Due to [reasons...], this project will replace it with a [new, better, other adjectives...] reservoir that will better serve the needs of Manhattan Beach residents.
28th Street Storm Water Infiltration
This project creates an underground infiltration system for storm water flows diverted from the storm drain on 28th Street. It will improve water quality at the beach and for Santa Monica Bay.
