Performance Metrics for Pavement
Pavement conditions are assessed using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) which is the international standard developed by American Society For Testing Materials also known as ASTM International.
The PCI indicates the overall health of the pavement on a scale of 0 (worst) to 100 (best).
This index is calculated by following ASTM D6433 or Standard Practice for Roads and Parking Lots Pavement Condition Index Surveys. The process involves identifying road distresses, as well as the measurement and severity of each distress.
