Sanganeb Marine National Park
Sanganeb island Reserve is a marine reserve in Sudan located 13 nautical miles (about 24.07 km) from the port of Port Sudan within the Sudanese territorial waters in the Red Sea and is abundant with marine biological diversity represented by endemic fish of various types and sizes and other visiting among them whales and includes large settlements of Various coral reefs and other rare marine creatures around which are the remains of shipwrecks and marine structures of archaeological value. It was included by the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization within the World Heritage.
Sanganeb Marine National Park is a coral reef on the Red Sea. The Park is renowned for its coral reefs, which are said to be the best in the world. Sanganeb is 25 km off the shoreline of Sudan. The park comprises two areas, the Sanganeb itself, which is the coral reef structure, and Dungonab Bay and Mukkawar Island, which is 125 km North of Port Sudan. The site includes coral reefs, mangroves, beaches, sea grass beds, and islets.
Bio-biodiversity:
The island has a rich marine biodiversity with different types and sizes of seaweeds and various types of fish and marine animals, vertebrate and mollusk.

Fish and marine animals:
The island is home to more than 300 types of different fish, including rare fish, including three types of sharks, and is visited from time to time by the whale of Abu Alam and dolphins . It also hosts a group of sea ??turtles , and other types of invertebrates, and incubates many types of marine creatures while families are spread around them. Fixed and mobile mollusks .

Economic and Scientific values:
After registering it on the World Heritage List, the rates of interest in tourism increased as a basic economic resource. The government of Sudan recently paid attention to the importance of tourism in the reserve in attracting hard currencies, and was keen to prepare programs and projects, including the activities of the annual tourism and shopping festival that takes place in Port Sudan, off the island, to introduce the cultural and maritime heritage in the region. And organizing cruises to the island every fifteen days.
