The Singapore Green Plan 2030, or the Green Plan, is a whole-of-nation movement to advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development.
The Green Plan seeks to chart Singapore's green targets in the next 10 years, strengthening Singapore’s commitments under the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Paris Agreement. This helps to position Singapore to achieve our long-term net-zero emissions aspiration as soon as viable.
The Green Plan is spearheaded by the following five ministries:
- Ministry of Education,
- Ministry of National Development,
- Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment,
- Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the
- Ministry of Transport.

What can you do to be part of the Singapore Green Plan 2030?
The sustainability goals of the Green Plan are ambitious. It requires individuals, communities and businesses to play their part in making a positive environmental impact. As individuals, here are some of the ways in which we can contribute:
In the Green Plan, one of the targets is to reduce two-thirds of net carbon emissions from the schools sector by 2030. It is also hoped that at least 20% of Singapore schools will be carbon neutral by 2030. Every student can be a steward of the environment by conserving energy and embarking on an environmental movement to make Singapore a more sustainable city. This may include switching off the lights and fans when they are not in use, and actively involving yourself in your school's recycling efforts. These actions will go a long way in making a greener and more sustainable future for Singapore.
