Cathy Smith (grad 1978)
In January of 1977 I moved into the basement of the Wesley Foundation. I learned that I wanted to become an educator when I taught Adult Education and ESOL students upstairs in Adamson Hall. Eventually I declared my minor to be Secondary Education and have been there since then.
Janet Daniels (grad 1976)
One of the greatest memories was the night that I pledged Chi Omega in 1972. I have been their advisor for the past 38 years. It has been a life long experience that I will cherish forever.
Leslie Fagin (grad 1992)
I was heavily involved in RHA (Residence Hall Association) and elected to be the Hall Council President. As President, I was the Conference chair for the very first Georgia Residence Hall Organization statewide conference. I learned many lifelong lessons that year and still use them in my current line of work.
Kali Bailey (grad 2017)
The time I fell in love with Astronomy. I had always thought it was really interesting, so I took a class in it. The class was located in the Boyd building in the big lecture classroom. Dr. Sterling was my professor. I loved the first day of class, and every class after that. He was so enthusiastic about it, and he truly seemed to enjoy teaching us. That class made me realize everything that we know that's out there and everything we don't. Because of that class, I want to pursue a degree in astronomy one day.
Caroline Bruce (grad 2017)
As I came back to UWG as a sophomore in 2014, I decided to go through sorority recruitment as an attempt to get more involved and meet new friends who believed the same values as me. The entire week was tiring, and confusing, but as bid day came I was happy as a kid with candy to finally get my new home. I remember opening my bid day, and reading "Sigma Kappa." I was so excited that couldn't help but sprint right towards our house. Discovering that Sigma Kappa wanted me as their sister as much as I wanted to be a Sigma Kappa is my favorite West GA memory of all.

My favorite memory at the University of West Georgia was September of 2013. It was the first week of classes and I was so exhausted all week. Formal sorority recruitment was happening and I had been up almost all night with excitement/nervousness from bid day coming up. I had been in all the houses, talked to hundreds of girls, and was so overwhelmed by all of these new classes. Today was the day, I woke up, went to almost all my classes and it was almost 5 o'clock. This was the time I had to meet our rhogamm to get our bids. We met at Greek Village with our rhogamms for what felt like hours waiting to open up our bid cards. We stood in a circle and had our bids laying at our feet. Everyone started counting down from 10. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1........ And as soon as one hit, hundreds of girls screamed and shrilled with excitement as they ran separate ways. I ripped open my card and ran towards the Chi Omega house. I didn't know who to run to, but as soon as I got there I felt like I was home. I got lost in the crowd, but I found who was going to be my best friend for the rest of my life and college career. Little did I know that moment was only the beginning of the most fun, most exciting memories of my life.
Haleigh Wilbanks (grad 2017)
In the beginning of September 2016, I decided that I wanted to join the college of Education Student Ambassadors. I filled out the application not knowing if I even had a chance of getting in. After sending in my application, an anxious filled week passed by without hearing from the organization. Finally, I received an email that informed me I was invited for an interview! I was ecstatic yet felt sort of queasy. This meant I had to prepare for an interview which is something I had never dome in my life! I wasn't sure what I would be asked or how it would even fo down but I started trying to prepare. The day had finally arrived and I was as ready as I was going to be. I prayed but was still very nervous! I went in and was shaking like a leaf! I knew I had prepared and done my best, the rest was in God's hands. I waited, and waited, and waited some more. Them, I heard a ding on my phone. That long awaited ding would tell me if my hard work and preparation paid off. I slowly read the email. I did it! I had been selected to be a COE student ambassador.

Years ago, My school went to the college on a bus day and I got to see everything about the school. It was amazing.

This was the Room, January 2017, that I accepted the role as Secretary in the UWG Finance Club. I work this as the pinnacle point in changing my career.
