Rotunda BBQ Area

The undercover barbecue pavilion next to the play area can be booked. Bookings for this site can be made for a minimum two hour booking period. Bookings for this site can be made up to 31 August 2025. The booking does not include the nearby grassed area. Please also note that alcohol is not permitted in the fenced area.

Booking enquiries can be made using our  online form , by phoning  03 6238 2711 , or in person at the Hobart Council Centre, 16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart (corner of Davey and Elizabeth Streets).

Bookings for the Long Beach Rotunda BBQ are being trialled until end of August 2025.

Playground

A very large, fenced off boat-themed play area that will keep the kids entertained for hours.

Sandown Park 1

A well utilised sports ground, used for Soccer in winter and little athletics in Summer, situated within the Long Beach Reserve.

This area is available to book for regular use during summer and winter sports seasons, and casual hire throughout the year.

Hobart Croquet Club

The Hobart Croquet Club is not operated by the City of Hobart.

The club has three superb playing lawns, all croquet equipment and a clubhouse with full kitchen facilities and toilets. They play on every day of the week, and throughout the year. The Club plays both Association and Golf Croquet and there are opportunities for members at all levels.

Hobart Petanque Club

The Hobart Pentanque Club is not operated by the City of Hobart.

This is Tasmania's oldest and largest  pétanque club. The piste is situated on the corner of Long Point Rd and Beach Rd, in Lower Sandy Bay  (behind Seagrass Restaurant). The club meets weekly for both social and competitive games and new players, novices included,  are welcome on all social days. Competitions are reserved for members, but spectators are welcome.
