Housing: In Eglinton East, having affordable houses is a stress relief for people who do not want to spend that much money on housing or people who do not have the capacity to. People in the neighbourhood mostly live in 5+ storey apartments and in rented households. The prices for these are very high. Also, as time is passing by, the prices are increasing even more. The neighbourhood has put a hardship on residents considering the fact that many of them are low to medium income families. Many people struggle to afford these with the amount of money they have which can cause stress to them.

Waste Management: The neighbourhood maintains the waste very sustainably, but still lacks to achieve the best for the community and the environment. Many people do not follow the rules and ignore the cautions. This causes pollution to the environment and makes it unclean.
Redevelopment Plan
An innovative idea that could be initiated to build a liveable and sustainable community is to have the construction of bike lanes. In the neighbourhood, there are many people who bike, however, the ratio of cyclists to bike lanes is very unstable as there are more cyclists than bike lanes. Bike lanes are recommended so that the communities can be safer. There are sidewalks for people to walk/run on and there are roads for vehicles. Riding bikes on roads make it less safe for the bikers as well as the vehicles. Furthermore, bikes on sideswalk make it unsafe for the cyclists and people walking on sidewalks. Therefore, bike lanes in less crowded areas in the neighbourhood would make it more liveable, sustainable and safe for everyone.
The lines indicate where the bike lanes can be constructed within the neighbourhood.
