2021 CENTRAL CITY VILLAGE ANNUAL REPORT

CENTRAL CITY VILLAGE

The Central City Village is bounded by McDowell Road on the north and the Salt River (Rio Salado) on the south, Black Canyon Freeway and 19th Avenue on the west, and the Grand Canal on the northeast.

The village contains government and business functions, sports venues, Margaret T. Hance Park, Burton Barr Central Library, Gateway Community College, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, seven light rail stations, and nine designated historic neighborhoods.

Downtown Phoenix is the home to the Arizona State University Downtown Campus, the University of Arizona School of Medicine, and a booming biomedical campus. Downtown Phoenix is a vibrant urban center with a great mix of new high rise buildings and historic properties. A short light rail ride links all of downtown to Sky Harbor Airport, the main focus of the eastern portion of the village.
