In May of 2018, the City Manager challenged Greenacres Fire Rescue & PBSO District #16 to a "Little Free Library Build-Off" challenge. During this challenge, staff and residents worked cooperatively to construct 2 custom libraries. Public voting for the best library unit began on July 4th and lasted several weeks. PBSO's library won but only by a few votes!

This Little Free Library was built by Wes Kain, a former city resident and the co-star of the Vanilla Ice Project on the DIY network. Wes has donated his time, toys, numerous supplies, backpacks and much more to the City's Youth Programs Division in an effort to "pay it forward" and give back to the community he still calls home.

Located at 501 Martin Avenue, this Little Free Library is one of many that have been donated by Robert and Carol Glasser. All of the City's Little Free Library Charter plates have been purchased by Robert and Carol Glasser as well as all the new and gently used books. Amazing generosity!

Donated by Girl Scout Troop #21127. This Little Free Library is part of the Silver Award Service Project called "Link-a-Lingo." This project connects the community through language and literacy. The Scouts collected and purchased sets of bi-lingual books (English and Spanish) to fulfill the Little Free Library.

This Little Free Library is one of three new libraries built by Church in the Palms and their dedicated church members during the annual Day of Service in November 2018.

In a show of support, a caravan from the Greenacres Historical Society Museum and PBSO VSU joined Pickwick Park in opening the City's 19th Little Free Library! The library units and books were purchased by Robert and Carol Glasser and through a donation by Perfect Smiles and Big Smiles Dentistry! Thank you to all for the continued community support!

There are a total of 3 library units: two libraries for children and one for adults.

The Little Free Library is made from refurbished newspaper box with the addition of a roof and new paint.

Each Sunday, our Little Free Library stewards set up a tent to promote our library system, hand out books and collect donations.
