Protection zones in Platamuni

Nature Park "Platamuni" includes three areas with a protection level II while  the general level of the MPA is III.

Cape Kalafat

The Žukovac bay with the surroundings of Kalafat cliffs (Seka Albaneze) presents in the western side a rich Posidonia oceanica meadow settled on rocks.

Velika Krekavica bay

This area is characterized by the presence of marine caves located along the cliff, with an extraordinary bioconstruction at the entrance made of sponge, madreporaria, and bryozoan species.

The Cape Platamuni area offers a natural habitat for the fan mussel (Pinna nobilis), a species officially recognised and listed as "Critically Endangered" by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
