Witnesses captured video of a tornado south of Alonsa that tracked to Margaret Bruce Provincial Park before dissipating over Lake Manitoba on August 3, 2018 around 8:15 pm local time. One fatality occurred and at least 5 people were injured. Several structures were destroyed, along with significant tree damage and reports of debris tossed significant distances along the tornado path. An NTP  ground survey  team investigated on August 8-9, 2018. 

Satellite imagery review revealed tornado damage path and  high-resolution aerial imagery  was collected in August 2018. 

Damage assessed as EF4, with an estimated maximum wind speed of 275 km/h, track length of 15.1 km and maximum path width of at least 1200 m. Tornado motion was from WSW.
