Job Safety Observations

Document at-risk behaviors on a work site

Job safety observations

Keeping staff safe is paramount both on your way to and from the job site, as well as on the job site.  Documenting safety observations can improve an organization's safety. You can document at-risk behaviors on a work site using the Job Safety Observations template in ArcGIS Survey123 Connect. By completing a job safety observation, the risk of injury and incidents can be greatly reduced. Work practices can be reviewed for improvement, helping to promote a culture of safety and improve productivity.

Survey overview

To complete the Job Safety Observations survey, the crew member enters information about the company, project, and what they are observing. There are several categories of potential risks that the crew member can assess as safeat risk, or not applicable. These categories include working conditions, personal protective equipment (PPE), and work practices. After completing the observations, a total of each selected choice is displayed, which can assist in the review process.

Streamlining data entry

The following survey design features help users complete the survey and enhance its appearance:

  • Table appearance—Groups with a common choice list appear in a table format.
  • Running total—The total number of observations in each category is presented in a summary.
  • Autocomplete—The address is automatically filled in based on the selected location.
