Palmer amaranth: the pest that doesn't pull any punches

First found in Rock Co. in 2011, waterhemp's pesky cousin is determined to become the biggest & badest weed known to WI corn & soy farmers.

This story is based on two open access publications published in 2022 by the UW-Madison Cropping Systems Weed Science Program.  "Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) adaptation to US Midwest agroecosystems"  published in Frontiers in Agronomy &  "Multiple resistance to imazethapyr, atrazine, and glyphosate in a recently introduced palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri) Accession in Wisconsin"  published in Weed Technology.

Author information for both manuscripts are included at the end of this document.
