BCRI Riparian Condition Zones (RCZs) Map
RCZs were developed by BCRI members to guide restoration strategies on a high level (30,000 foot view).
RCZ management zones and prescriptions provide a high-level approach to managing vegetation and restoration in the riparian corridor in a way that promotes ecological integrity, reduces fire risk, enhances recreation opportunities, and improves public safety.
They are not intended to replace site specific plans, but provide information on the overall concept (future condition for the area). How implemented projects compare to the RCZs will be used to evaluate project success and make revisions to the project designs as needed.
Map 2: Riparian Condition Zones
Riparian Condition Zones (RCZs)
Riparian conditions zones represent "desired future conditions" based on balancing the needs of water quality, habitat, recreation, public safety, fire resiliency, and other factors. More information on the zones can be found in the Bear Creek Natural Resources Plan ( https://www.stream-smart.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Bear-Creek-Final-NRP-Compiled_04.14.23.pdf )
