Welcome to the Coffee Shop Site Suitability Story Map
This interactive story map presents the results of a coffee shop site suitability analysis conducted using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
Understanding the Process
To determine the best locations for coffee shops, we used the following datasets:
- Candidate Coffee Shop Locations: Potential sites identified for analysis.
- Employee Buffers: Half-mile zones showing the number of employees nearby.
- Residential Service Areas: Five-mile driving distance zones showing residential populations.
- Restaurant Density: A raster dataset representing the intensity of restaurant competition.
Half-Mile Employee Buffers Employee density is a key factor for coffee shop success. This map layer shows half-mile buffers around each candidate location, highlighting the number of employees working nearby. Charts accompanying this map visualize the employee count for each site, enabling easy comparison.
Restaurant Density Description: Competition is an important consideration when choosing a coffee shop location. This raster dataset shows the density of restaurants near each candidate site. Areas with lower density represent less competition and higher suitability for new coffee shops.
