A visual tour of the lands we serve on Lummi Island, Washington.

Getting to Lummi Island

Traveling to Lummi Island entails a short ferry ride on the Whatcom Chief. The ferry departs from Gooseberry Point on the mainland, and in under 10 minutes crosses Hale Passage to the Lummi Island ferry terminal. Once on the island, a short drive will take you to any of our four nature preserves.

Preserves

Conservation Easements

We are incredibly grateful to the many private property owners on Lummi Island who have placed their land into a conservation easement with LIHT. These conservation easements amount to an additional 733.73 acres of land and critical habitat that is protected in perpetuity. LIHT stewardship staff monitor conservation easements annually to ensure that the agreements are upheld and the conservation values preserved, while working with property owners to ensure that their needs are met. If you are interested in protecting your land on Lummi Island through a conservation easement, please follow the link provided below or contact us directly at  info@liht.org .
