Map Projections
The following slides show the importance that map projection have on viewing our world. Along with the image of the projection, I will provide you with some pros and cons of each projection, as well as optimal usage.
Eckert VI
Pros: Map shows equal area. The Central Meridian and equator are straight lines.
Cons: Shapes, directions, angles, and distances are distorted.
Usage: Not advisable for any need.
Wagner VII
Pros: Map shows equal area. The Central Meridian and equator are straight lines.
Cons: Shapes, directions, angles, and distances are distorted.
Usage: Appropriate for small-scale mapping.

Goode homolosine
Pros: Equal area projection. No distortion around Central Meridian and Equator.
Cons: Shapes, directions, angles, and distances are generally distorted. Not navigatable.
Usage: Appropriate for small-scale mapping requiring accurate areas although its uninterrupted use is not advisable.
Polyconic
Pros: None
Cons: Neither conformal nor equal-area.
Usage: Not recommended for regional maps.
Berghaus Star
Pros: Area distribution is closely equivalent, as shown by the blue circles
Cons: Major shape distortion of land and hard to navigate.
Usage: Used for world maps in several atlases in the nineteenth century.
