SFMTA's Joint Development Program
Program Goals and Policy

Joint Development
Joint Development involves a developer using San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) property for non-SFMTA uses. Housing and commercial development are common uses. Joint Development can bring new benefits to the community, to the SFMTA and to developers. A strong Joint Development policy is necessary for the future success of the program. Joint development will help address the future financial needs of the SFMTA.
Individual Sites
We encourage you to learn more about any particular property in the Portfolio.
The following provides before and after images of existing joint development at two locations and basic details about other properties in the Portfolio. The details generally exclude information if the property is being used for non-SFMTA uses (markets, public seating, etc.).
