We've walked a bit now. You may be hungry. Or tired. Fret not, for The Chazen has a solution! Head back down to the first floor for some water, coffee, or a biscuit to refuel.

Venturing over to the college part of town, at the center of UW's campus lies the Wisconsin Historical Society. Dive into a treasure trove of documents and artifacts that capture the essence of the state's rich history.

Memorial Union Terrace

Perhaps it's time for some lunch. Adjacent to the WHS is the popular Memorial Union Terrace. Welcome to all ages, this is the perfect place to sit down and relax. Depending on your preference, you have a couple options.

If you're adventurous enough to visit the brutally cold Midwest in winter, you may just be lucky enough to catch Lady Liberty on Lake Mendota.

Otherwise, Der Rathskeller, located inside the Memorial Union is your go-to option for some fairly priced but delicious grub. Don't forget to grab some special Rath sauce for your cheese curds!

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream

It's getting pretty late. We should probably head back to where we began our journey, but not before some dessert! Head on over for some nationally award-winning ice cream. Founded and family-owned since 1962, Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream is sure to fulfill your saccharine desires.

Insomnia Cookies

You may be thinking to yourself, "Darn. I was at the Memorial Union for so long that everything is closed now. Where else am I gonna grab some dessert?" Thankfully, Insomnia Cookies has the answer! Living up to their name, this establishment, located just east of Chocolate Shoppe on State Street, is open daily until 1am or 3am.

Continue eastward on State St. to return to where we began. Hopefully, this has been a rewarding experience learning all about the immersive experiences Madison, Wisconsin has to offer!
