50) GARY GABLES / GLENN MOORE TAP
GARY GABLES / GLENN MOORE TAP
601 15TH ST
Built in 1906, this building has European influence mixed with its Tudor architectural design. Of note are the raised garlands above the doors and windows, the arched windows and entryway on the first floor, the second-floor bay and grouped windows and the eyebrow window in the side roof area.
The building acquired the name Gray Gables in 1911 when it served as a popular bar and grill until the 1940’s when it became Glenn Moore Tap. Over the years, numerous restaurants occupied the building including the La Primavera Mexican Restaurant & Bar in 2010. The building has experienced a major fire and a gas explosion, but after each disaster repairs were made and this unique building continues to grace its prominent corner location.
