Metro Parks Pavement Assessment

An example of the power of GIS

Metro Nashville manages over 13,000 acres of parks across Davidson County. OHM and SSR have joined teams to aid Metro in assessing all asphalt surfaces.

Prioritization

Our first order of business is to prioritize all parks in to three phases:

High, Medium, and Low

Field Visits

Our GIS Specialists will prepare custom field maps for teams to perform assessments. This will ensure that no stone is left unturned and that pavement is properly categorized.

Field Visits

Field teams can compare imagery across years to determine the rate of deterioration.

Field Visits

Field teams will mark damage boundaries to accurately calculate pavement area as well as mark point damages.

Reporting

Parks that need immediate attention for safety reasons can be highlighted so that repairs can start as soon as possible.

Oversight and Recommendations:

Using operational dashboards, Managers and Metro Staff only need a web link to securely monitor progress from the office, ensuring that data is properly entered and that schedule deadlines are being met.
