Northern Michigan's May 2021 Climatology
A rather "normal" May for northern Michigan climate locations.
- All climate sites were close to normal for the month of May in all three categories, Average Temperature, Precipitation, and Snowfall. The only exception was at Sault Ste. Marie when it comes to precipitation, where only 0.96" fell. This ranked as the 7th driest May in recorded history, which began in 1888.
- Most of the precipitation at the climate sites in northern lower Michigan fell during the first week of May in a two day period with a stationary front draped overhead for several days. Only about 0.50" of precipitation fell during the rest of the remaining month.
