Let's talk about Cerrillos.

Everyone has an opinion about Cerrillos Road. So let's talk about it.

The Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking public feedback on the current conditions, design, and future use of the Cerrillos Road corridor in Santa Fe.

This feedback will be used to create a community vision that will guide future development of major roads in Santa Fe—using Cerrillos Road as an example of what’s possible. Cerrillos isn’t just a main road; it’s also a hub for businesses, social connection, housing, and more. We’re asking residents to share their thoughts on how the Cerrillos Corridor is or is not meeting community needs and what you’d like to see for its future.

We want to know what you like and dislike about the Cerrillos Road corridor. How does this road help or hinder your daily life? What are some experiences you've had on Cerrillos as a driver, a transit rider, a pedestrian, a cyclist?

To get involved, start by taking the survey below. The survey is anonymous and takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

Background Information

This initiative, driven by the Santa Fe MPO  Metropolitan Transportation Plan update , seeks to answer -

What does the corridor mean to the community today and how do we use it? What do we envision for the next 25 years, 50 years, and even 100 years for the corridor?

The re-envisioning of the Cerrillos Road Corridor represents a significant opportunity to question traditional, car-centric planning and to ensure that Cerrillos serves the community in a holistic manner. This process will serve as a model for how to balance transportation needs with social, economic, and housing needs and how to design streets so that all users can have a more positive experience. how Santa Fe makes decisions in the future around planning and road design.

The MPO leverages state and federal funding every year for transportation projects in the Santa Fe region. This engagement will help prioritize future projects and ensure the MPO’s work is informed by the community’s voice.

A local engagement team is gathering public input in late 2024 and early 2025. The team is partnering with local community organizations, conducting interviews, hosting visioning events, sharing surveys, and co-authoring policy guidance about how future decisions and investments can best accomplish the community values and vision that are a result of this outreach effort.
