Honduras is small country in the center of Central America. Honduras is divided into 18 different departments. Its location and climate is ideal for growing coffee, and it is the world's fifth biggest coffee producer by volume. Although coffee is grown in all departments, it flourishes the most in the central and western mountainous regions. The departments of El Paraiso, La Paz, Comayagua, and Copan produce and grow the most coffee. These regions are shown on the map. The coffee harvest season goes from November to April, and the best quality coffee is grown in higher altitudes - above 1,350 meters ("TechnoServe," 2020).
