Leonora “Leni” Robredo is the incumbent vice president of the Republic of the Philippines, serving from years 2016 up to the present. Advocating for good governance and transparency for the country, she announced her intent to run for presidency as an independent politician on October 7, 2021 and filed her candidacy on the same day.

Robredo’s runningmate, Francisco “Kiko” Pangilinan is a senator of the Philippines holding office from 2001 to 2013 and 2016 up to present. Initially choosing to seek reelection as a senator, he filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president on October 8, 2021 as the Liberal Party’s standard bearer.


The Campaign

Key officials of the tandem’s campaign are from Liberal Party and its allied partners, notably former Senator Bam Aquino as the campaign manager and Barry Guitierrez from Akbayan party list. Campaigning under the tagline “Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat”, Robredo and Pangilinan officially kicked off their campaign period with a proclamation rally in VP Robredo’s hometown Naga City on February 8, 2022. The rally was attended by Robredo, Pangilinan, and their senatorial slate. Since then until the end of the campaign period on May 7, 2022, Robredo and Pangilinan has been busy with sorties, rallies, debates, and other campaign activities.

The supporters

The largest of the campaign rallies of the Leni-Kiko tandem is recorded to be the Robredo - Pangilinan miting de avance held in Makati City days before the election day with 780,00 reported number of attendees. Grand campaign rallies of the pair boasted of large crowds of thousands of supporters from various parts of the country.

Aside from civilians, celebrities and politicians alike have openly showed support for Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan's bid for the national elections and attended their grand campaign rallies.
