Information taken from the Billings Gazette: "Red Cross. A.N.C. 211 Custer Ave. Entered service May 3, 1918. Trained at Fort Des Moines. Assigned to U.S. Army Hospital, Fort Des Moines. This picture portrays a tree and a memorial for the first soldier from Yellowstone county to die in World War One. The picture shown is Roe E. Tabor’s memorial. He died August 22, 1917 and he is known as the first one to fall from Yellowstone County. There are many other memorials, but none of the memorials are labeled as to whether the soldiers were killed in battle or whether they died from sickness. The other memorials are placed in alphabetical order. The newspaper then goes on to name many of the other memorials
