Wall Street Road Improvements
Project Overview
The City of Northfield in partnership with Rice County are seeking to improve the condition and life of Wall Street Road (County Road 79) while enhancing multimodal transportation options along the corridor. Improvements to the corridor will include:
- Roadway reconstruction from 4th Street E to just east of Rosewood Rd
- Spring Creek bridge replacement
- Storm sewer system improvements
- Water main system improvements
- Sanitary system extension
- Addition of trails throughout the corridor to provide multi-modal transportation options that will connect into the future Mill Towns Trail

Neighborhood Meeting #1: January 18, 2023
This meeting introduced the project and shared the initial design options for the roadway.
Neighborhood Meeting #2: March 22, 2023
This meeting shared the revised design option, an alternate option and the draft Mill Towns Trail plaza concepts.
Neighborhood Meeting #3: Fall 2023
This meeting will share the final design and plans for construction.
Construction: Summer 2024
Construction is currently anticipated to take place May - October 2024 but may change as the project progresses.
