Crane and Wildlife Viewing Sites

Central Platte Natural Resources District's Crane and Wildlife Viewing Sites

What Are Crane and Wildlife Viewing Sites?

The Central Platte NRD Crane and Wildlife Viewing Sites are recreational opportunities for the public to safely view one of natures grandest spring migrations. Visitors travel from all over the world to witness and photograph this annual event with the hopes of seeing a Rare Whooping Crane, migrating waterfowl, the elusive Nebraska River Otter, and occasionally casting a rod and reel in search of fish. Both the Alda and Richard Plautz Crane and Wildlife Viewing Sites also have a nature trail associated with them.
