Set yourself apart with UCR's London Leadership Experience
"The London Leadership Experience takes aim to introduce you to top-industry experts, culturally-strong organizations, and insightful experiences that will inevitably enhance your career in business." -- Professor Kyle Ingram
Professor Kyle Ingram, UCR School of Business
The London Leadership Experience encourages students to engage in a deeper understanding of human behavior within organizations. The program works on the idea that behavior is a function of a person in their environment (i.e., the way in which we behave is largely dependent on who we are and the various contexts we find ourselves in).
This approach is developed from two upper-division management electives: 1) Leadership Development (BUS 156), and 2) Designing and Leading Teams (BUS 145). Both courses encourage students to form a deeper understanding of who they are and how they are already primed for successful leadership and teamwork. Delivering these two courses in the international context will highlight new challenges that students should be ready to face in an increasingly globalized world.
The courses are designed to take students out of their comfort zone to inspire personal development and growth. Studying theories of leadership and teamwork amongst top academics and practitioners in London will only further expand the knowledge and perspective gained through these courses.

Why London?
"I completed my PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2012. Since then, I have worked for three British universities. I have provided consulting in interpersonal leadership and organizational culture for organizations such as Ernst & Young and British Tabaco. I have also advised Members of Parliament around modern trends in management. Having lived in London for nearly a third of my life, I have developed a strong network of practitioners and academics – the majority of which are now quite senior. On top of this, I know the City of London very well. I am enthusiastic about leading students through unique London experiences as well as sharing my local knowledge; which is often overlooked by tourists. Since London provided me so much in the way of life and professional development, I consider it a great honor to share this fascinating and culturally-rich city with our students."
