Exploring Basemaps

In this session, we will learn about the various basemaps available in ArcGIS Online. Basemaps are the background you choose for any map you create.

For example, the background you choose when mapping the mountain peaks in USA will be different from the background you choose when you would like to create a map showing where fire stations are located in your city. For a map of mountain ranges you would most likely choose a terrain or topographic map and for a map of fire-stations in your city a street map might be more appropriate.
