Artist Lofts

TAL (Truckee Artist Lofts) is a mixed-use, affordable housing community for artists and local workforce. The community includes 76 income-restricted rental apartments, ranging from studios to 3-bedroom units

76 units are restricted to artist households earning no more than 80% of area median income.

Coburn Crossing

Coburn Crossing consists of 138 rental apartments currently under construction east of the Truckee Cemetery, south of Interstate 80/the Marriott Hotel currently under construction, west of Stockrest Springs Road/Truckee Way. The project was approved by the Town Council in January 2017. 132 of the apartments are market-rate rentals. Six of the apartments are available to low-income households: three studios (a one-person household earning up to $47,650/year; $1,191/month rent including utilities) and three one bedroom apartments (a two-person household earning up to $54,450/year; $1,361/month including utilities).

Coldstream Commons

Located adjacent to Donner State Memorial Park in Truckee, Coldstream Commons is a 48-unit, six building project (five with residential units and one common building) within the Elements at Coldstream Master Planned Community. 

The income cap for the units is 60% of area median income for Nevada County. Nine of the units are restricted for those with special abilities, funded by Housing and Urban Development 811 funds.

Frishman Hollow II

The second phase of the Frishman Hollow affordable housing project contains 68 units: 33 very low income units (50% AMI), 34 low income units (14 at 60% AMI; seven at 70% AMI, and 13 at 89% AMI), and one manager’s unit

Pacific Crest Commons

Description: The State has selected the former California Highway Patrol (CHP) site in Truckee (1.72 acres of State-owned land) and awarded a contract to develop housing on the site as part of its obligation to identify excess state-owned land and pursue affordable housing. The Pacific Companies (TPC), which has already created several affordable housing developments in Truckee – such as Frishman Hollow I & II and Henness Flats – has been awarded the contract. The project will include 55 housing units restricted to serve individuals and families earning no more than 80% of the area median income ($63,000 per year for a family of two in Nevada County).

Estates-Meadows

30-unit affordable housing project located at 10020 Estates Drive (APN 019-450-047). The applicant is proposing to subdivide the existing Truckee Senior Apartment parcel and develop the two-acre portion south of Estates Drive. Three three-story apartment buildings with a mix of one-, two, and three-bedroom units and one community building with community room, manager’s office, laundry, bike storage, and general storage are proposed. All of the units are proposed to be restricted to 50-60 percent median income households. Fifty-one parking spaces are proposed on site and a bus pullout is proposed as part of the frontage improvements.

Donner Lake 6

Donner Lake 6 project is a six-unit workforce rental housing project located at the west end of Donner Lake on .49 acres. Three of the units are studios and three are 1-bedroom, all have garages located below each unit. All of the homes are under 500 square feet and the project will be built to Silver LEED green building standards. The six units are expected to be deed restricted to serve occupants that work within the geographic boundaries of the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. The project was approved by the Town of Truckee Planning Commission in May of 2020.
