Stuart, Florida
Stuart is located on Florida's East Coast, with the St. Lucie River to the West and the Indian River Lagoon the East. The Climate is pleasant with mild winters and warm summers.
Stuart is famed for sail fishing and all other types of sport fishing. The north and south forks of the St Lucie River are tropical wonderlands for boat cruises and paddle excursions. It is common to see wildlife while out on the water.

Stuart was first settled in 1870, and incorporated in 1914, then eventually chartered in 1925. Early settlers of Stuart until the 1880's, were Hubert W. Bessey and his brother, Willis from Ohio arriving along the banks of the St. Lucie in 1882 to what was known as the St. Lucie Colony. Being so impressed with the endearing waterways, they decided to settle there, camping in a tent. Stuart was originally named Potsdam from 1893 to 1896 by Otto Stypmann another one of the early settlers of the area who immigrated from Potsdam, Germany. The name was later changed to Stuart in June of 1895 after Homer Hine Stuart, Jr. once the Florida East Coast Railroad was established.

Stuart is a diverse city with quaint older neighborhoods blended with newer town homes and condominiums as you approach the downtown area. Stuart's successful Community Redevelopment Area has made the downtown area a pleasant area to visit with a variety of restaurants and shops.
