Fort Snelling

My trip to fort snelling.

Pillars

My Route

1

Fort Snelling Visitor Center

I choose the visitor center for the social aspect. I choose this lens because it wouldn’t make much sense for the other two, economically it’s free to visit, and the large building and surrounding area is too developed to be considered environmental.

2

Pilot Knob Preservation

I choose social for the lens. You could argue that it was environmental but the only reason that its been preserved environmentally is because of the social significance.

3

Bdote

It’s not THE bdote but it’s still considered A bdote. I choose environmental due to the fact that even though it has cultural significance to the Dakota the reason it has this significance is because of the environment.

SES Pillars

Given the SES layers and surrounding areas I conclude that the park is being managed substantially. Because of the amount of places that people are able to glean the three pillars from this environment I believe that it shows that the park is substantially preserved. The surrounding area itself has a lot of space for nature, minus the trail and occasional sign, most of Pike Island was nature. The visitors center also shows sustainability seeing as how it preserves the knowledge of the people previously there. The memorial Pilot Knob is almost completely naturally preserved to the point that the mist modern thing in it is the memorial itself.
