1980: In Grade 11 he left the country to join the uMkhonto we Sizwe, the paramilitary wing of the African National Congress.

Returned to South Africa

1982: Returned to South Africa to start underground operations in Pretoria and Soweto and was known as Donald Modisi. He operated with the following members: Mr Tobaso Sisulu, Mkefa and Maja.

1984: He was chased for two days by the Apartheid government, shot and killed.
